Michael Gerdijikian

Mike is an undergraduate student in the Dept. of Civil & Environmental Engineering at University of South Florida. Currently he works as a REU student (Research Experience for Undergraduates) under the guidance of Dr. Daniel Yeh. His present research involves working on treatment of raw water using reverse osmosis to produce drinking quality water.

 

He is the current President of USF chapter of American Water Works Association (AWWA). He is also the Historian and the Newsletter Editor of USF chapter of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He is a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, national honor societies — Tau Beta Pi, Phi Theta Kappa and Golden Key International Honor Society. He is also a member of National Dean’s List.

 

He is an art-lover and painter. He enjoys oil painting, listening to  various types of music and likes to hang around with friends to relax. After Mr. Hartvelt’s Dutch lessons, Mike now knows how to ask for a beer in Dutch.

 

At UNESCO-IHE, Mike will work with Dr. Gary Amy and his research team, on membrane biotechnology.
